However, I'm not stupid. I know it's not actually for love of the site that my site hits suddenly surged. There were a ton of links to the MILK and Susina posts, but J dug through the site history and found dozens of Google searches for images on my site. More likely than not, someone is going through and stealing my photos.
Ahem, whoever you are. SHADY. I don't mind when people take a photo, of even a bunch of photos. I totally understand that some things are pretty and you just want them. I especially understand if you find a photo of something tasty and you want to show your friends (although, why not just link them to my site?). But lifting hundreds of photos from my site? Not nice. You'd better not be using them for commercial purposes. Because if you're unlucky enough for me to find you, I will be angry. Very angry. The only person allowed to use my photos for commercial purposes is Mohammed from Tajine in San Francisco, because he always treated us right and because he asked nicely. Look how pretty his site is (click here).
He was probably some South African blood diamond mogul.

what a nice compliment!
I wonder who might be stealing your photos. That is so sneaky.
Maybe it's some site or person who's putting together a booklet on where to eat in LA.
OOH! A Feast. Pray tell, what will it include?
Eww, why do people have to be shady? What on earth could they be stealing your pictures for? Wronger than wrong. But Good stuff on the nice, non-creepy compliment! So rare in LA.
I added your blog as a link on mine. Hope its ok with you. I love reading you!
Thanks! What a compliment. I like RR&R too. It rolls off the tongue!
And that French onion soup looks incredible.
is it real diamond? sorry, i am so dumb, anything shining i just love it! so nice... if it is a real.....
I AM JEALOUS.......... ^0^
i can explain your pictures, they were lifted or stolen. they were linked. if they were lifted or stolen you would not of gotten a trackback, and therefore no 'hit'
being boys and people in general we feel the need to 'taunt' each other, a popular time to do this is around brunch/lunch where all of us are bored out of our minds in front of our computers. a long composition of food pictures is much more effective then descriptions. upon discovering your site, i 'lifted' photos from your site as you called it and linked them to this list (which is not uncommon to obtain 500+ hits, as there are over 100k members).
blogger unlike personal sites (say mine), has unlimited bandwith and builds your 'hit' counter. i didn't figure you'd mind or frankly figure it out.
dood the comment thing saved it w/o me finishing!!!
...
i digress, anyways it won't happen again. can't 'recycle' pictures anyways =)
your pictures are well composed, travelled, bright, colorful and all kinds of goodness. viewing your site on an empty stomach is the worst torture a foodie can endure. AND...i can say you've gained at least 3-4 regular readers due to those pictures, possibly more?
hopefully you harbor no ill will.
happy eating.

bonjour pei!
upon a feat of serendipity, i came upon your site 2 days ago while searching for "cabbage" or something. i left work and forgot to write the name of your blog down, and since then, had been fiercely trying to rediscover your site! i came upon it again (thank God!), this morning, when i remembered to Google "white bean soup" and "sick" :)
So, although you were ill, everything happens for a reason. Just letting you know that i love your posts and will be linking to your page on my own blog.
Wishing you continued gastrointestinal satisfaction,
Krizia
