I felt barely human this morning when I woke up, and there was slobber all over my face. I drool a lot when I sleep, probably because I'm dreaming about food. It was time for a Monday morning treat. I stopped by Clementine to try a latte. I recently noticed that they're selling
Intelligentsia coffee beans. Intelligentsia is a Chicaco company that makes some of the most popular coffee in the country, and I've never been able to get to their Silverlake location.

In a nutshell, fantastic! I've finally found a latte with a foam, body, and flavor that can rival that of
Ritual Roasters in San Francisco (which uses Stumptown coffee beans from Portland, OR). I've already memorized the face of the barista who made my latte. If the next one isn't equally good, I'm only letting her make my coffee from now on.
I also got a hot cross bun because, having grown up heathen, I'd actually never seen one before. The glaze tastes like cinnamon, and I think there are currants in it. I'll report back after taking a bite.

A lunch from last week. I had to get rid of some salad greens and the last of my ACME levain (boo hoo). And who doesn't like Heinz baked beans? It's a slice of Britannia that I found stashed in the back of a cabinet, taking up space, so I ate it. Yum

Oh Clementine, I love you so! Their peanut butter cookies - if not overcooked - are little discs of heaven. All of their cookies are yummy actually. And their chicken pot pies, and their mac and cheese, and on and on and on....
This post was so funny. I want to be like Blackfoot, but still be able to eat all chezpei's creations. Drool...
I do not believe that you ate all three hulking loafs of Levain bread. That's just redunk. - T.
