Tonight, we feast. But I'm taking a different approach to feasting this time. I admit, when I host ten or twelve guests, I cut corners. The $2 bag of carrots from Ralphs instead of the farm fresh bunch with greens attached. Generic tomatoes instead of Muir Glenn. Chinese supermarket meat instead of free range. You get the idea. But today, we're doing things the right way. Here's my list, some dishes should jump right out at you:
- mussels
- San Marzano tomatoes
- fresh pasta
- mascarpone cheese
- carrots
- celery
- tomatoes
- Savioardi cookies (I'm purposely being arcane here)
- tomato paste
- Parmesan or Pecorino
- Pork
- Veal
- Bison
- clams
- new potatoes
- baby octopus
Plus a motley assortment of things I have in my kitchen. Let the guessing begin!

Makes me angry that you're cooking for Problem Child and not me. Did she bring you ACME bread? Well, did she?! - T.
I'm jealous; it sounds so good. Come back...come back!
T, you requested Korean! I no can cook Korean. Had you requested home cooked, you would have gotten it!
Sounds like tiramisu on the dessert front. Not sure about the meats and shellfish.
I don't know that I'm invited? Kinda far for me to drive down to LA from SF at this late notice though :P
I would've guessed some kind of seafood pasta, port roast?
I'm not a she by the way.
Haha, I get to eat it! Meow!
Haha, I should clarify. There's internet Problem Child, who chose her own name.
Then there's our friend whom we've dubbed problem child, who disavows the nickname but totally deserves it.
Both are invited tonight! Git down here from SF!
I mean his own name.
Maybe we need to clarify: boy problem child, girl problem child.
grrrr another feast without me.
