Fixing a Disaster?
I've been watching a lot of Top Chef lately, and a friend mentioned that the contestants were asked their tips for fixing a ruined dish/meal. The best answers were "Add butter," "Wrap it in bacon," and "Keep the booze flowing."
It's a great list! It's so true that any of those things would help people forgive a multitude of culinary sins. I would add "Make sure dessert is a knockout." What would you do?

Oh boy... I've needed this as the last few years I've been learning to bake, which is quite a a feat for an ADD type like me (My last dinner party I forgot to add Butter to the brownies... ack! Turned out okay tho'!)
* REALLY good ice cream on top (This will save anything!)
* Whipped Cream (Same as the above)
* Quick fruit sauce
For mains...
* Call it "Blackened" LOL!
* Salty Dishes, serve on top of bland rice/potatoes
* Bland (I always keep a spice rub in my cabinet Just in case)

Last Thanksgiving I used one of those new cool remote thermometers. Worked way well, the only problem is my turkey was ready an hour and a half before I thought it would be and most of my sides were "in process"! So the turkey was a tad dry, from sitting, but the gravy I made, and lots of it, was delicious!

actually, i saw that bit on top chef a few weeks ago, and one of the suggestions that came up quite often, which i'm surprised your friend left out (because it was mentioned so often) is "add lemon juice to it."
so many people said that, and i thought -- yeah, that DOES work for so many savory dishes! add lemon juice!
