Hot Hands!

This might be my most unusual wedding-related purchase to date.
Hot Hands chemical hand warmers are one of my favorite inventions. They're shaped like a giant tea bag, and when you shake the bag the chemicals warm up and stay hot for up to ten hours. The heat does wear off after awhile, but I've used it outdoors for an entire workday and not had to use more than one package.
So for the wedding, I thought it would be great to have these for our older guests and for the bridal party during outdoor photos. Having a warm torso and fingers is sometimes the difference between being able to smile for another minute and feeling completely grouchy. I'm also planning to give some to my relatives, who are arriving a week before the wedding so they can see San Francisco and Las Vegas. Both those places are cold in January!

Interesting... I used those while campaigning in Iowa 4 years ago (It's P.'s turn this time around!) and I found that they released a bit of soot (It's the charcoal that works). So I got dirty hands and feet at the end of the day. I would test them out just in case, I'd hate for your grandma's hands and dress to get all sooty...

Thanks for the heads up! I'll check them out and have the relatives use them on their trips to Vegas and SF.

Imagine if I got that all over my white dress...

Good idea for the other trips. Running round in jeans and casual clothes, you don't notice it as much. But for the wedding day, if you think your hands are going to get a little chilly... I just picked up these at Target for my own East Coast Nuptuals.

The design is very 'wedding' and they are SO warm! They come in different colors too and are cheap enough to pick a pair for grams and moms. :)
