Pagolac
Some friends introduced us to Pagolac in Westminster/Garden Grove yesterday. Delicious! The Beef 7 Ways was good, as usual, but the catfish stole our hearts.
A small complaint was that the skin was barbecued to the point of inedibility. However, the meat throughout was steamy and juicy, with a mild clean flavor--how often can catfish be described as a clean tasting fish? Yum yum good.
Short posts, if any, for the next few days. Packing is a !$*@!

What is your general sense about the quality of Beef 7 Ways at a restaurant that is otherwise good? I've wanted to try it at one of my favorite Vietnamese places, but wasn't sure about spending the money without any recommendations even if the rest of the restaurant's food was delicious.
How much are they charging? Beef 7 Ways in California is usually just under $15 a person. And it comes with huge plates of raw vegetables, which is why I've never insisted on taking you. I'm not sure if the meat and fish sauce are enough to balance all that rabbit food. :)
If the restaurant's otherwise delicious I'd say go for it, but make it a group event. B7W is much more fun with a crowd.
Put up pictures of the seafood feast soon!
Can't! All methods of loading photos onto chezpei.com have been packed up. The earliest you're looking at for any photos is...MONDAY!
You and I had beef seven ways and I loved it. I don't remember any plates of vegetables. I think prices out here are about the same per person. I assume that one order is for two people, right? That's how I remember it.
OMG we did? See? I need this website because I go senile and forgot what restaurants I've been to with which people. Sigh. Hopefully I'll be more "together" once we've settled in. We're almost all packed and cleaned!
I know. I was a little horrified - I mean, forget my birthday, fine, but forget a DELICIOUS MEAL that we had? Blasphemy!
