One LA standard that you just don't see in SF:: an overabundance of quality juice bars. The Newsroom was awesome for a stellar chicken sandwich and exceptionally fresh salads, but the juice bar next to the bar bar was what was stunningly impressive. It's not for everyone, but I do enjoy the dizzying combination possibilities.

SF compared to LA has much less casual healthy food. I wish SF had more places like M Cafe de Chaya, Urth, & Newsroom. Not that the food in SF is anything less than fabulous. I think the food in SF has more international variety.
The greater LA region has as much int'l variety as the Bay Area, just different strong points. I agree there aren't s many "cal-casual" (salad/juice bar type places, food in SF is healthier in general.
