Exercise milestone! I didn't think when I set out today that I'd actually be able to run 7 miles, but nothing ventured, nothing gained, right? So I laced up my running shoes and headed for Golden Gate Park. I figured even if I had to walk part of it, I'd get a nice walk.
It was a really cloudy and I only had my Blackberry, so the photos are terrible. But Golden Gate Park is looking really pretty this time of the year. I saw a waterfall!
I also saw some water birds. I'm not sure what they are; they aren't geese or swans or ducks, obviously. They were very cute though, and having a good time at Spreckles Lake.
Shockingly, I completed all 7 miles! I stopped to walk for a minute or two about every one and a half miles, but I made it! I treated myself to a huge lunch at Marnee Thai, starting with their crispy, piping hot corn fritters.
I think next time I'm sticking to mostly appetizers at Marnee. I love a good yellow curry, but this wasn't significantly better than what I can get downtown. But I did see a lot of really amazing appetizers, including their coconut hotcakes and avocado rolls. So next time, I'm sticking to the unique items.

Congrats! I walk maybe 7 miles in a month, and that's a good month. Good thing J didn't come along, otherwise, he'd catch and eat those birdies at the park.
Dang, that was the fastest post-to-comment turnaround this blog has ever experienced. See, there's one race you can win!
Thanks Rainbow Falls in GGP. I like it. It's man-made, but still a good one.
The gray bird is the "Great Blue Heron"

The white bird is an Egret:

Thanks! I was thinking one of them was an egret, but I don't know my birds very well. Now I'll know.
